Amila Prasanga is a senior naval officer and military research professional from Sri Lanka with over two decades of experience in maritime operations, strategic planning, and policy development. He has served as a Military Research Officer at the Institute of National Security Studies, the premier national security think tank under the Ministry of Defense in Sri Lanka. His academic background includes Master’s degrees in Conflict and Peace Studies, Defense and Strategic Studies, and Business Administration.
His research spans a wide array of transnational security issues with a strong focus on human trafficking, irregular migration, and maritime crimes in South Asia and the Indian Ocean Region. He has collaborated with global scholars, including projects addressing the limitations and potential of Sri Lanka's national anti-human trafficking response. His work has been featured in scholarly journals, international conferences, and public policy forums.
