Bishnu Sapkota is a Nepali scholar, educator, and social researcher dedicated to advancing social justice, human rights, and survivor-centered solutions to human trafficking. His PhD on Trafficking Survivor Resilience elevates survivors’ voices and generates evidence-based insights on risk reduction, coping strategies, and sustainable recovery pathways in Nepal—shifting the narrative from victimhood to dignity, agency, and resilience.
As a faculty member at Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Dr. Sapkota combines rigorous academic research with hands-on grassroots engagement. With formal training in health education and sociology, he works directly with trafficking survivors and high-risk communities to strengthen prevention, survivor empowerment, and community-led risk reduction. His work informs policy, improves practice, and delivers measurable social impact.
Dr. Sapkota is the Founder of Deep-Nepal, a grassroots organization implementing high-impact anti-trafficking initiatives, including border surveillance, community awareness, child protection, survivor rehabilitation, vocational education, scholarships, and resilience-building programs. His long-term vision is to establish a Survivor Resilience and Vocational Training Center in Nepal—creating a scalable, survivor-led model that bridges research, policy, and practice. Through strategic partnerships and donor support, Dr. Sapkota aims to deliver sustainable change and lasting freedom for trafficking survivors in Nepal.
