GAHTS Policy Workgroup

Who we are

We’re doing some of the research so you don’t have to.

The Policy Workgroup is made up of a small number of GAHTS members who range from advocacy based to education and research focused organizations. It has three main objectives, to educate, advocate, coordinate

  • Educate the public about the problematic nature of recent policy changes for anti-trafficking efforts

  • Create education and advocacy materials that academics and non-academics can use to share information with the public and with legislators

  • Coordinate and assist GAHTS Members and organizations in efforts to create evidence-based anti-human trafficking policies, including with resources, research, and partnerships

Towards that- we try to stay on top of the latest policy changes affecting human trafficking work and create tools that can help the wider anti-human trafficking community stay informed on the challenges, participate in timely research and advocate for change by creating:

  • one page documents with data based talking points and resources to help inform conversations and activities

  • webinars with advocacy and policy experts to help the GAHTS community, and sometimes our wider community, unpack and stand up for what the sector needs

  • safe conversation spaces to foster cross sectoral support and partnership in advocacy, research and education
