Rachel Robitz, MD

Rachel Robitz (she/her) is the psychiatrist at Diaspora Therapy Group and a physician at California State University Sacramento’s student health clinic. She is volunteer clinical faculty at UC Davis. She consults on human trafficking and health for HHS’ Office of Trafficking in Persons and as an expert witness in cases involving human trafficking. She completed residency in combined family medicine and psychiatry and a fellowship in community psychiatry at UC San Diego. She was previously the Medical Director of Sacramento County’s Mental Health Urgent Care Clinic, psychiatrist for UC Davis’ Trauma Recovery Center, Program Director for UC Davis’ Family Medicine/Psychiatry residency, and a physician in Sacramento County Health Center’s Healthcare for the Homeless satellite clinic. She has published and presented extensively on human trafficking and health. She led institutional efforts at UC Davis to implement both education and policies for improving the care of patients who have experienced trafficking. Her advocacy and scholarly work have focused on trafficking survivor leadership and improving the wellbeing of people who have experienced violence through re-examining mandated reporting laws.
