Sarbinaz Bekmuratova, PhD

Dr. Sarbinaz Bekmuratova is an Associate Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy at Creighton University. Her research examines sex and labor trafficking in Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and the United States, with particular attention to vulnerable and marginalized populations, including homeless youth, youth from racial/ethnic minority backgrounds, and youth with disabilities. She also studies the intersection of occupational therapy and human trafficking, including healthcare professionals’ roles in identifying, supporting, and promoting the community reintegration of survivors.
