Human Trafficking Survivors and Key Stakeholders’ Perspectives on Reintegration Pathways in Kosovo: A Qualitative Study
Author: Prekazi, Lulejete & Arenliu, Aliriza
Abstract: Each year, over four million people, primarily women and children, are trafficked worldwide. In Kosovo, human trafficking remains a critical issue. This qualitative study explores the reintegration challenges experienced by trafficking survivors in Kosovo, identifying key support mechanisms and meaning-making processes through interviews with survivors, service providers, and policymakers. Findings highlight the importance of gender equality and socio-economic empowerment programs, family reconciliation, and public awareness in reducing stigma. As the first systematic examination of reintegration factors for trafficking survivors in Kosovo, this study provides valuable insights for policymakers and service providers in Kosovo and other Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs).
